Following the previous posting about the UHP Fitting Series, we'll introduce valves.

| Valve Operation Principle

Fundamentally, valves control the flow rate, pressure, and direction of fluid and serve to open and close flow paths. For instance, a gas valve commonly seen around us operates by turning the valve handle in line with the piping direction. This action causes the ball inside the valve to rotate in the direction of the pipeline, allowing gas to flow when the valve is opened. Conversely, when the valve is closed, the ball rotates 90˚, completely sealing off the internal passage.

Valves vary in materials and operating mechanisms depending on the environment. For household gas piping, where gas is handled at low pressure and at room temperature, *ball valves are commonly used.

* Ball Valve : A type of valve that contains a perforated ball among its components.

UHP valves, used in clean environments such as semiconductor, pharmaceutical, food, and cosmetics manufacturing, have different characteristics from typical ball valves. While the premise of controlling fluid flow remains the same, they are broadly classified into the following three types based on their applications.
